ROLE OF SYNTHETIC fungicide

Based on losses that can be caused by the presence of plant diseases and unresolved problems in the field of plant diseases , the current crop disease still remains the center of attention for those who engaged in the agricultural world . If this continues and there is no precise way to control plant pathogens , we can assure the growth of plants will not be able to survive and the products are not optimum or in accordance with the goals and objectives . Losses that can be caused by diseases such plants can be wider and have a negative impact on the sustainability of the plant , which is closely related to the sustainability of food security .Efforts to control plant diseases have been carried out and will continue to be pursued , although until now still not able to solve the problem. The most common way to control plant diseases , is with chemicals , because the results could be seen and felt fast . However , not always the chemicals can be used to control plant diseases . A lot of news about the inability of the chemical in the troubleshooting of plant diseases , so farmers have to use it in a way that is not prudent , for example, by not paying attention to the recommended dosage , menyampur more than one kind of chemicals , and how to give it not sprayed , but splashed into plant or to the ground . This is done because our farmers can not wait to tackle the problem in plant diseases , as well as the ignorance of farmers will be negative consequences borne by both the farmer and his family , the environment , as well as by consumers .There are some chemicals that have been banned from being used again to control plant diseases ( Hassan , 1998) . This is because the use of chemicals may have negative consequences ( Oudejans , 1985 ; Fortunately , 1996 ; Gamliel et al . , 1997 ) , of which cause resistance to plant pathogens which cause chemicals used does not work , the killing of non-target microbial pathogens and the emergence of secondary more dangerous , adding to the cost of production due to the high price of chemicals , causing environmental pollution , especially ground water and soil , affect the health of farmers and their families, especially when dealing directly in the field are women who are pregnant or breastfeeding , and affect the health of consumers who consume agricultural products contaminated with the chemical .Therefore , to prevent or avoid the negative impacts , it is necessary the development and use of environmentally friendly pesticide , which is one of scope " sustainable green revolution " , to support the achievement of food security is strong sturdy ( Ghose , 2004 in Adnyana , 2006) . Environmentally friendly pesticide lately been much discussed , developed , and used in the world of agriculture . For example , the development of botanical pesticides derived from plants and plant material , although it still requires further research and in-depth .In addition , the use of beneficial microbes to control plant pathogens and pests have also been developed ; existing even marketed commercially , for example to control plant pests using biological insecticide active ingredient Bacillus turingiensis . This is what is known as biological control . The term biological control , in general , is the control of plant pathogens using living non-human agents , and not with a synthetic chemical agents , or to borrow a phrase ad " eating grapefruit juice " , then in the biological control , microbial pathogens faced with beneficial microbes or antagonist .Before further discussing biological control , then I would first express my thoughts about the terminology . The term " agent " is a term that is deliberately proposed to be used instead of the term " agent " , which connotes the end of the compound with the letter " s " in the word " agent " , although the term agent has been incorporated into the Indonesian dictionary . In the case , the Indonesian itself , we do not know the word ends in the letter " s " indicates that the word is a compound word ( plural ) , as seen in the English language .
